Honor: To Help Your Child Through Loss
As an adult, losing a loved one is hard enough, whether it is a person or a pet, but as a child, it can be unbearable.
The hope of this book is to help a child through their loss by learning how to remember their loved one and, like Aunt Bonnie says, stories keep people alive.
Honor their memory by the lessons they taught, the love they gave, and the special times that were shared.

More about Honor…
Honor their memory by the lessons they taught, the love they gave, and the special times that were shared.
We carry on the great lessons they taught by teaching others. There can even be special traditions or recipes that our loved one cherished. We can share those with others, and when we do, we can tell the story of our loved one.
It has amazed me how, after suffering a loss, we often encounter someone who has also had a deep loss in their life. Sometimes the loss is so similar I believe God put them in our life so we can relate to them. Our loss truly helps us have empathy to be able to comfort someone else who has gone through something similar because we understand how deep the pain can be.

Great addition to any child, parent, counselor, or teacher’s library.
Honor is a beautifully written book on a subject that is not always discussed. Elementary children will enjoy reading about a beloved pet and younger children will love hearing the story read to them! As a retired teacher, I highly recommend having this book available in your library!
